DRIFTING COMPASS is a high-energy rock band made up of Santa Cruz Area musicians with many years of performance experience. The all-original rock music is replete with memorable lyrics and catchy hooks, blending into a unique and hauntingly-familiar style. The individual performers bring together different styles from their musical backgrounds to focus on fresh original songs. The result is powerful and infectious!

Nomad, also known as Dave Miller, played guitar, sang and wrote most of the material for the Indiana grunge-rock band Mudhead before venturing onto the road to perform as a solo artist. His songs are filled with thought-provoking lyrics and great melodies that linger in one's head. In late 2005, Nomad decided to expand his music into a band setting once again and the quest began! Dana Vincent was recruited to play lead guitar, bringing his instrumental surf style from local-favorite band Splashback to add a new level of intensity to the songs. Dan Blake, formerly with the very popular Zeus and the Lesser Gods, worked his bass guitar magic to add the perfect groove to the music. Chen Dubrin, with many years of experience playing with well-known bands like RYZ, Naked Beach, and Monster Johnson, joined the group to add some of the most creative and versatile drumming heard anywhere. This four-piece line-up remained for five years. Because of various reasons and circumstances, Dana Vincent and Chen Dubrin are no longer members of Drifting Compass.

Nomad's music is taken to a new dimension with DRIFTING COMPASS... and the wheels keep rollin' forward to destinations unknown!!
