"It's Your Cue"

I wake up from my dark womb
I cast my glance across the room
My eyes, they blink, adjusting to the light
I draw in deep my first breath
And hold it tight inside my chest
And with a breath, begets life

Time flies by at lightning speed
And though most of us have what we need
We still seem to dwell on what we lack
Then time often can stand so still
It slows, it goes the speed it will
But some things are not meant to go back

There’s no such thing as wasted time
There’s only wasted lessons
And if you’re not paying any mind
It’ll only keep you guessin’
‘Cause it’s a one way street
There’s no turning back
This train doesn’t ride a circular track
It’s here and now, so make it count for you
It’s here and now and baby, it’s your cue

Sometimes we’d rather not be here
Spending time on things unclear
We’d rather see results for time gone by
And so we try and try
To measure everything we do
In terms of waste and progress too
But progress all depends on point of view

‘Cause there’s no such thing as wasted time
There’s only wasted lessons
And if you’re not paying any mind
It’ll only keep you guessin’
‘Cause it’s a one way street
There’s no turning back
This train doesn’t ride a circular track
It’s here and now, so make it count for you
It’s here and now and baby, it’s your cue
